Given a video to edit for a local tabloid show, Miranda McCall, (Randi), finds herself a bit bored until she hears a disembodied voice whispering during the interview.

As she begins trying to unwind what she's hearing, a call comes from her boss, Don, to let let her know about a tragedy surrounding the current footage and asks her to get it done quickly. What Randi doesn't know, is that the moment she arrives at the studio to investigate the disembodied voice, she has signaled something supernatural that she can hear it, and the nightmare begins.

Five-year-old Lisa Hardy has been orphaned by a house fire of a suspicious nature, and her "imaginary" friend, Ariane, has become more prominent, often placing her in dangerous situations. Miranda sees something strange while reviewing the interview of her and her parents prior to the fire, and makes up her mind to help this child.

Enlisting Don's help, and the help of a Ukrainian fortune teller, Randi finds herself mixed up in a supernatural whirlwind that may jeopardize everything she has come to understand, and possibly kill them all.
